## Summary

Your machine inventory and asset management system has been finalized and prepared for deployment.

### Current Status

- Git-ready: `.gitignore` (Python/IDE exclusions)

### Current Folder Location

### To Rename to "Mahida and Co. Advocates"

Since VS Code or the file system currently holds a lock on the folder, you have two options:

#### Option 1: Rename via Windows Explorer (Recommended)
1. Close all VS Code windows and terminal sessions
2. Open Windows File Explorer
3. Navigate to `C:\Users\Beast\`
4. Right-click `machine_logger` → Rename
5. Type: `mahida-and-co-advocates`

#### Option 2: Rename via PowerShell (Admin)

# Close VS Code first, then run in PowerShell as Administrator:
cd C:\Users\Beast
Rename-Item -Path "machine_logger" -NewName "mahida-and-co-advocates"
```

#### Option 3: Manual Copy & Setup (If needed)

# Create new folder
mkdir C:\Users\Beast\mahida-and-co-advocates

# Copy all files (except .git if any)
Copy-Item -Path C:\Users\Beast\machine_logger\* -Destination C:\Users\Beast\mahida-and-co-advocates -Recurse -Force

# Then delete original
Remove-Item -Path C:\Users\Beast\machine_logger -Recurse -Force
```

### Run the Application

After renaming, start the app from the new location:

```bash
cd C:\Users\Beast\mahida-and-co-advocates
python -m pip install -r requirements.txt
python app.py
```

Then open `http://127.0.0.1:5000` in your browser.

### Test Data

Sample user, machine, and repair records have been created and saved to:
- `machines.json` – IT asset inventory
- `users.json` – Staff directory
- `repairs.json` – Maintenance log

### Deployment Notes

- Data is persistent (stored as JSON files)
- No database setup required
- Ready for local use or server deployment
- All branding updated to "Mahida and Co. Advocates"
